We are pleased to be working with our client who are a leading establishment based in Hadleigh, Suffolk who are currently searching for an experienced individual to join their team as a Kitchen Deputy.
As a Kitchen Deputy you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient, hygienic and safe operation of the production department, reporting directly to the Kitchen Supervisor and in their absence, the Production Manager. You will oversee the preparation of products, enforce hygiene standards, train and monitor staff and ensure the compliance with safety and cleaning protocols.
Main Responsibilities:- Prepare products according to the production manual
- Complete checklists for temperature control, ingredients, cleaning and equipment
- Maintain compliance with cleaning schedules and prescribed methods
- Train and retrain staff in production methods
- Monitor and report staff performance to the Operations Manager
- Assist with filling, sealing and packing of products
- Enforce personal and operational hygiene standards
- Arrange staffing levels to meet production requirements
- Ensure temporary staff comply with health and hygiene declarations
- Implement Safety Requirements
- Attend required training courses
- Perform spreadsheet data entry for traceability
- Previous experience in a similar role within a production kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to train and supervise staff effectively
- Excellent Attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt to changing production needs
- Basic computer skills for spreadsheet data entry
The position is Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3pm with a pay rate of £11.90ph.
